Disabling the alarm does not.
Volkswagen valet key alarm.
It starts the car but does not disable the alarm.
Depending on your model you may or may not be aware that there is a key inside your key fob.
This system is equipped with an alarm keypad and a chipped key that you can use to control the alarm.
The process for programming these remotes is the same no matter what volkswagen model you have.
The alarm will sound when the beetle s door or trunk has been opened before you ve disabled the alarm.
I only have the valet key.
When i unlock the driver side door with either key engine does not start and alarm goes off immediately.
For some reason the alarm is not disabling today when i put the key in the driver side door.
The volkswagen beetle comes standard with a remote anti theft alarm system.
Also if you didn t get keyless entry you must be using the service valet key and it might be registered wrong for the vehicle which would set the alarm off.
The key broke off the remote a month or so ago po didn t have the second remote so i have been using the remote to lock unlock the car and the valet key to drive it.
You must have at least one programmed key fob to program another one to your volkswagen.
It still had the alarm set so i unplugged it agian.
Put new batteries in it but no go.

Now comes the good part.
From searching the forums i assume i have 15 seconds from opening door and i am well within 15 seconds.
I have lost one master key and one is broken.
So my remote and main key got into a washing machine.
It didn t start because it was disabled so i left they key in the on position and plug the fuses back in while the battery was connect and while the key was in the ignition and in the on position and it was fine after that.
Car does not start with either main key or valet.
The door opens but alarm sounds and the car will not star.
I removed the fuses indicated with a key and tried to stat it agian.
I think all vw s have keyless entry.
If you didn t get a switchblade key you got screwed.
Certain models namely the touareg and the cc have a hidden plastic key that you will have to pop out using a small button on the side of the fob.
Most volkswagen vehicles use switchblade keys and key fobs.
